In an effort to attract patients, differentiate themselves from competitors and continue to provide high-quality care to their patients, Hunterdon Medical Center undertook a renovation to upgrade their busy Maternity and Newborn Care Center, while never slowing down on delivering 1,200 babies a year.
The Hunterdon Healthcare Maternity and Newborn Care Center offers 20 private labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) birthing suites in which mothers can deliver and recover. These private suites are an attractive quality of the center, as new mothers are able to stay in one room throughout their entire birthing experience.
DMR provided professional services for a furniture and finish upgrade which upgraded the space with a modern, boutique feel, with the intent to move away from the conventional, residential interior design of competitors. The private birthing suites include a memory Foam mattress for the mother, a sleep sofa for the partner, flat-screen television, private bathrooms and separate rooms for labor and delivery. The project refreshed the entire look and feel of the space, which in addition to birthing suites, includes triage, nurse's stations, public waiting areas and hallways.
The Hunterdon Healthcare Maternity and Newborn Care Center received the 2015 Women's Choice Award as one of America's Best Hospitals for Obstetrics. This designation is highly selective, and requires exceptional scores based on female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women say they want from a hospital.
"Pleased patients and staff [say] it is sleek and comfortable, and looks very modern and upscale. We found all the contractors to be very professional and easy to work with, and given that we were renovating while providing patientcare, things went amazingly well."
