INTERIORS: Vitals Corporate Headquarters


When Vitals, a web-based health care technology company that offers the opportunity to comparison shop for healthcare, relocated their offices in the summer of 2015, they moved less an a mile away from their former office.

While the move was a considerable time and financial investment for the company, the need for an upgraded, modern workspace was a necessity, as the firm, founded in 2008, began to emerge from start-up to a leading provider of information regarding healthcare.

DMR was contracted to complete a fit-out for their new corporate headquarters in CityView Corporate Center in Lyndhurst, N.J. The office includes a full kitchen, multiple large offices, conference rooms and diverse cubicle desk space.

As a modern workspace was a key requirement of Vitals, the completed, 21,000 square foot design embraces this type of environment, which allows for flexibility and adapting to different work styles. The design includes 13 offices around a glass perimeter, which allows daylight to come in from all sides. There is no ceiling in the shared work area, which provides an increased height that provides better acoustics and a more open space. The wall of the board room, which connects to the kitchen, pivots 90 degrees to allow for a quick transformation into a large gathering area. Cubical heights allow for privacy while sitting, but engagement while standing. Desks can be raised so employees can either sit or stand, and loose furniture allows for the quick transformation of work environments and collaboration. There are no walls or departments, instead key personnel offices are strategically placed and the layout allows for movement through the office without cutting through departments.

The Vitals corporate headquarters is a true modern workspace, tailored particularly to emerging trends in interior office design and appealing to the millennial workforce.

The Vitals website now includes more than 1 million doctor, dentist and medical facility profiles and more than 6 million doctor ratings and reviews. In the past three years, Vitals has nearly quadrupled their revenue and grown their staff to approximately 180 people.

Vitals began occupying their new office space in the summer of 2015.
