Green Economics consulted DMR Architects on the sustainable intiatives for this project. Carlstadt Public School has successfully achieved LEED® Silver certification. It is the first public school in State of New Jersey, and first building in Bergen County to be LEED certified. The facility received this recognition from the use of recycled construction and interior materials, energy efficient lighting, daylighting/shading and mechanical and plumbing fixtures. The school received 36 points (33 are required) from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
