DMR Architects is proud to welcome Colleen Mahr to our staff as Director of Business Development. Colleen joined DMR this month, after first being introduced to the firm in the 1990s when DMR designed Golden Door Charter School in Jersey City, N.J.
Colleen has worked in economic development for more than 20 years, starting in the City of Jersey City in the 1990s, then spent several years working for a private company promoting charter schools throughout the United States. Most recently, she worked for the County of Union as the head of the Division of Strategic Planning and Intergovernmental Relations.
Colleen is currently in her third term as the mayor of Fanwood, N.J., a Union County municipality of more than 7,000. Among her many successes as mayor, Colleen has overseen the transformation of downtown Fanwood during her tenure, an effort which earned the Borough a Smart Growth Award in 2014 and recognition in both editions of the New Jersey Handbook on Redevelopment.
Colleen serves on the executive board of the New Jersey League of Municipalities (NJLM) and is past President of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors. In addition, she chairs the NJLM Land Use Legislative Committee and leads the Mayor's Coalition for the Raritan Valley Rail Coalition.
At DMR, Colleen will expand upon existing marketing and business development efforts to enhance DMR's relationships in the public sector.
She can be reached at DMR at 201-288-2600 or email@example.com.
