Buckshutem Road Elementary School | Design-Build Additions & Renovations / LEED Gold

Bridgeton, NJ

As Design Consultant on the Ernest Bock & Sons team, DMR designed additions and renovations to two schools in Bridgeton, N.J., part of a $46 million Design/Build contract with the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. Both buildings are in the process of seeking LEED certification from the USGBC.

The Buckshutem Road Elementary School project increased the school’s capacity from 404 students to 581 students in grades K-8. The project included 33,000 square feet of new construction to accommodate classrooms, science labs, art room, gymnasium and locker rooms. The project also includes 7,000 square feet of renovations for the conversion of an existing gymnasium to a media center, and the existing media center to student services offices.
