National Education Technology Center University

Kaduna, Nigeria

Early in his architectural career, Lloyd spent several years commuting to Nigeria, where he worked with a local architect to build the entire National Education Technology Center University in Kaduna. University administrators had called upon American architects to design a campus that was contemporary in character and demonstrated a commitment to modernization.

The University is situated on 500 acres of the northern plains of Nigeria and functions as a self-contained city, which in addition to the University and its amenities, includes housing, shopping areas, emergency and medical facilities, fields, play areas and a clubhouse, and schools for the young children whose families reside in the community. The University included 12 academic building, an 85,000 square foot administration building, student dining and numerous other buildings.
