Buckshutem Road & Quarter Mile Lane Elementary Schools

Serving as design consultant to the general contractor, DMR designed additions and renovations to two schools in Bridgeton, NJ, part of a $46 million design-build contract with the New Jersey Schools Development Authority.

The Buckshutem Road Elementary School project included 33,000 square feet of new construction to accommodate classrooms, science labs, locker rooms, an art room and a gymnasium. The project also includes 7,000 square feet of renovations for the conversion of an existing gymnasium to a media center, and the existing media center to student services offices. The project increased the school’s capacity by nearly 200 students.

The Quarter Mile Lane Elementary School included 91,000 square feet of new construction, including a new, three-story classroom wing, a multi-purpose room, cafeteria, kitchen, gymnasium and locker rooms. The project also included renovations to the existing 33,000 square foot facility to accommodate preK classrooms, offices and support facilities. The project increased the capacity of the existing facility by nearly 500 students.

Formal certification for LEED Silver is currently in progress.
