The Hunterdon County Vocational School District retained DMR to create a new Biomedical Lab for the district’s Biomedical Sciences Academy (BSA), a full time vocational high school that is housed at North Hunterdon High School.
DMR renovated an existing classroom to accommodate the program, a four-year program for students with career interests in the biomedical field. The program offers preparatory courses for professions including human medicine, physiology, genetics, microbiology and public health.
The Biomedical Lab includes a lab/instructional area, including an anatomage table, a realistic virtual cadaver, a sophisticated piece of equipment found only in the most advanced medical schools and residency programs, and very rarely in a high school program.
DMR renovated the classroom to provide for the program through interior upgrades, new lab casework and technological upgrades that allow the images of the anatomage table to be viewed from around the classroom.
