Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center (LEED Equivalent)

The Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center, a 36,000 square foot specialized building, is a 24/7/365 operation.

The LEED Silver equivalent building is 23% more energy efficient and consumes 40% less water when compared to other buildings. The roof includes a 20-kw solar panel system to power 75% of the interior light. Interior finishes have a minimum of 25% recycled content. 75% of construction waste was diverted from landfills.

Other sustainable features include high performance, Low-E Argon filled windows, occupancy and daylight sensors, no VOC paints and sealants, FSC certified woods for doors, trims, veneers and furniture, use of local and regional materials, exterior sunshades, highly reflective roofing materials, drought tolerant landscaping and no irrigation.
