Throughout the years, Joseph M. Sanzari, a leading New Jersey general contractor known for heavy construction, retained DMR for numerous design projects, including most recently, the design of their new corporate headquarters in Hackensack, NJ. The project entailed the design of a 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art and sustainable office building.
Sustainability was an important aspect of the design as well, and was at the forefront of project discussions. The project was designed to achieve LEED Certified level of certification. Starting with a high-performance building envelope, the building uses less energy and is more efficient, as compared to base building designs. High efficiency mechanical systems with smart controls maximize air distribution to offices and common areas, providing improved indoor air quality for the employees. Other design features that improve the quality of the work environment are large windows in each office, full height glass between offices and corridors, LED lighting, daylight harvesting and interior finishes with low VOC content.
