St. Joseph’s School for the Blind is a 73,000 SF, LEED Certified specialized facility that provides educational, therapeutic and social services for blind and multi-disabled students from birth through age 21.
Sustainable features include materials made of recycled content, water saving measures, locally manufactured and locally extracted or harvested materials. DMR designed a series of permanent educational signage highlighting sustainable aspects of the building, which were printed in English and with high contract lettering and Braille.
