Two days, two groundbreakings! Earlier this week marked the celebratory start of construction on two DMR projects: Annin Lofts and the Vauxhall Meeting Center. DMR happily joined the owners, stakeholders and project teams for these important projects, both of which will bring welcomed development and growth to the communities they call home.
June 14, Flag Day, appropriately marked the ceremonial groundbreaking of Annin Lofts, a 112-unit residential project at the historic Annin Flag manufacturing facility. At the 'flag raising ceremony,' the Verona Fire Department Honor Guard helped to raise the American flag at the site, symbolically connecting the site's storied past with its promising future, which includes an adjacent new construction building.
The existing Annin building will be converted into 52 loft-style apartment units, including the addition of a penthouse. The new construction building will include 60 more units. DMR's designs take advantage of the 13' high ceilings that are complemented with an urban loft style design, including polished concrete floors, exposed structure and ducts, and large windows in each studio, one- or two-bedroom unit.
On June 13, DMR joined the Township of Union in breaking ground on the new Vauxhall Meeting Center, a community center which will bring welcomed life to a historic site. The new meeting center, formerly the home of the old Vauxhall Library, will include multi-purpose space, as well as the new headquarters for the Vauxhall Historical Society.
