Reflecting the local implications of hospital network mergers and expansions, the first of two medical office buildings that DMR Architects has planned for Hunterdon Healthcare to support its expansion into Somerset and Warren Counties will begin construction shortly, with an expected completion date at the end of 2016.
In Bridgewater (Somerset County), DMR has provided extensive professional services for the renovation of a former 55,000 square foot, three-storied Bank of America building located at 1125 Route 22. The building refit will accommodate medical offices for specialists from Hunterdon Healthcare in cardiology (office practice, cardiac testing and vascular lab), ambulatory surgical center, imaging center, urology/breast, ophthalmology, pulmonary, gastroenterology, endocrinology and other sub-specialties. Atlantic Health System, through an alliance with Hunterdon Healthcare, will also have specialists in the new location.
“These new facilities will allow us to expand into Somerset County and improve care options to patients. This is an exciting time in healthcare and we continue to make investments that put us at the forefront of the industry,” Robert Wise, President and CEO for Hunterdon Healthcare, said.
Another DMR-designed project, the interiors of a 13,000 square foot new office building in Washington (Warren County) to accommodate Hunterdon Healthcare’s family practice, OT/PT and behavioral health, will break ground in the summer of 2016.
“Excellent facilities are at the heart of exceptional healthcare strategies, and Hunterdon Healthcare has given us the inspiration and resources to design high-performing, patient-friendly centers,” Lloyd Rosenberg, AIA, President and CEO of DMR Architects, said.
