DMR completed three specialty suites at St. Peter’s University Hospital for the oncology, surgery and cardiology departments. Collectively, the projects blend an understanding of professional standards with creating an aesthetic that engages medical personnel and patients, resulting in outstanding functionality and comfort for patients. In designing the projects, DMR paid particular attention to spatial experiences, recognizing that elements such as calming materials, privacy and clear wayfinding impact both services and healing.
In the 10,000 SF surgery suite, DMR completed an outpatient space comprised of exam rooms, consultation space and doctor’s offices/workrooms, with features that improved privacy beyond basic HIPAA compliance. The interior design scheme so closely matched the hospital’s commitment to a positive patient experience that it has been implemented as a standard, beginning with DMR’s projects in the oncology and cardiology suites.
