The Borough of Woodcliff Lake contracted DMR to design a two-acre, municipally owned parcel in the center of town into their first Borough-owned park. The former garden center, commonly known locally as the Galaxy Gardens site, is adjacent to the municipal pool and athletic fields, offering a central location for the project that is the culmination of years of planning.
DMR provided two concepts for the park that included various options for passive outdoor space and a performance area, with the intention of designing a project that would have a profound impact on the community, bringing history, athletics, entertainment, and outdoor living together in one place.
The approved concepts call for a great lawn, water feature, dog park, picnic areas, pergolas for shaded seating, a playground and an amphitheatre and concert stage. Other elements of the municipal park include walking paths, lighting and landscaping.
